You can train your Chocobo once per hour and it will receive experience points relative to its rank and the cleanliness of the Chocobo stables. Other FC members are also allowed to train your Chocobo once per hour. Both you and a fellow FC member can simultaneously train your Chocobo, as the timers are separate. You can do the same for others. A Chocobo that has reached the maximum amount of experience points for its rank will have its rank printed in orange text in the menu and will be unable to rank up or receive further experience points until it is fetched from the stables and brought out to battle once.
Favorite Feed: Your Chocobo may develop a preference for certain feed if trained with these several times. This will boost the efficiency of this type of feed when given as a treat when your Chocobo is summoned for battle. Only effective for feed which can provide a battle bonus if used when your Companion Chocobo is out for battle. Your Chocobo's preference is only affected by feed given yourself. Training done by other players will not affect your Chocobo's preference.
